Hi Everyone, sorry for the absence, but today I'm going to need your help for an extremely important, extremely personal and extremely necessary surgery that's going to be done on my older, extremely rad sister Rian Marie.

Rian, we recently learned, has to undergo a pretty serious dental surgery in the near future and the problem comes with the ridiculous fact that her insurance company is not going to cover it. Why they cover some surgeries but not others is beyond me, but regardless, she needs all the help she can get to be able to afford the surgery.

Here's where I, and hopefully You, come in...I am hereby having a silent auction/drawing for an original, signed, matted and framed 11x14 print of ANY photo I have ever taken. Whomever donates the largest amount of money to this Rian Marie's Dental Surgery Fund will get the photo in professional matte finish, framed in a professional, stylish frame, and I will even send it to you wherever you live. I promise, these photos, when framed, look beautiful and as a matted 11x14, it will make a great addition to any wall in your home.

Please, Please help, even a dollar per person would help immensely. Let's spread this around to as many people as we possibly can and hopefully we can help her raise some money. Think of this as your early New Year's Resolution; please help, Please.

Update as of 1/26/2007: $165 so far, lets see if we can boost that up!!!

This sentence makes me cry...straight from Seed Magazine:

"Up to 95 percent of all the terrestrial world is now actively managed for human uses."

What will become of us? Where will we go when there is nowhere here left. Why did we slowly transition from taking only what we need, to taking everything and needing more? By 2040 there will be no ice on the North Pole, none. The "Winter Wonderland" of so many children's imaginations, Santa's workshop, all of that, will be gone. We are killing ourselves, we are killing our beautiful planet, and soon enough we'll be killing the Moon, Mars, and whatever other celestial bodies our technology will allow us to reach.

The largest, most dangerous population of parasitic organisms in this world has slowly shifted and without even fully realizing it, become us. We are the cancers that are destroying this world, reproducing at astronomical rates, devouring everything in our paths. I am sorry for the negative sounding tone of this post, but it is just so sad to me.

Do what you can, while you can.
